Trading cards

Collect a card of every Pokémon, set by set. Every card makes that Pokémon hit harder. Each set opens with its own story quest, which starts you off with 3 packs.

Sets

SetCardsOpens
Kanto Set 1 151 After the Rainbow Badge (Erika), on your next visit to Celadon City.
Johto Set 1 100 After the Plain Badge (Whitney), on your next visit to Goldenrod City.
Hoenn Set 1 135 When you reach Lilycove City.

Packs

  • You get a free pack every so often (60 minutes at first), even while the game is closed — as long as there is room in your pack storage. It comes from a random set you have opened.
  • You can also buy a pack of the set you choose. The first one each week costs 3,000 Quest Pearls, and every pack you buy makes the next one 10% dearer, over all sets. The price goes back down on Wednesday at 00:00.
  • A pack has 5 cards at first. Every card but the last is common (77%) or uncommon (23%). The last card is a ★ rare (15% at first) or else an uncommon.
  • After 14 packs in a row without a rare, the next one is sure to have one.
  • Any card can come out shiny on the spot: 1 in 500. It goes straight to the Shiny tier. A shiny card is only a card: it doesn't give you a shiny Pokémon.
  • Very rarely you open a GOD PACK: every card in it is rare (1 in 500 packs at first).

Card tiers and bonus

Extra copies of a card you already have raise its tier. Rarer cards need fewer copies. The bonus applies only once you own that Pokémon.

TierAttack bonusCopies (Common)Copies (Uncommon)Copies (★ Rare)
Normal +2% first copyfirst copyfirst copy
Gold +5% +5+4+3
Animated +10% +15+12+8
Shiny +20% +30+24+16

"Copies" = extra copies needed after the tier before. A copy of a card already at the Shiny tier gives vault points instead (Common 1, Uncommon 2, ★ Rare 4).

Which cards are rare

Rarity follows how hard a Pokémon is to catch (legendaries are always rare).

TAPMARK grading

TAPMARK is where a shiny card goes to be graded. The GRADING tab appears once you have your first shiny card. The card stays away for 24 hours, even while the game is closed, then comes back in a slab with a grade from 1 to 10. A graded card gives more attack than a shiny one, and every card at TAPMARK 10 also gives +1% tap damage for good, with no limit.

Sending a card again

You can send the same card again without spending a copy. Each try costs 1.5 times the one before, up to ₽200,000,000 and 50,000 QP. Only a better grade counts, so a lower one never takes away what you have. A card at TAPMARK 10 can't be sent again.

Slots

You start with 1 slot. Your first TAPMARK 10, 25 graded cards and 100 graded cards each open another, for 4 in all.

Upgrades

Each upgrade has its own bar, filled by something you do with cards. When the bar is full, pay ₽ to take the next level (up to 5); the bar then starts again.

Vault

Every pack adds 10 vault points (plus any overflow). At 3,000 points the vault opens and gives you 20 items (45 with the upgrade maxed). It only gives things you could already get where you are in the game; if a tier has nothing for you yet, the roll falls to the tier below.
