Game mechanics
How the numbers work. Everything here is taken straight from the game's code.
Battle
- Once a second, every Pokémon you own attacks the enemy at once (except the ones in the Day Care). You don't pick a team.
- You can also tap the enemy for click attack, up to 20 times a second.
- Defeat the enemy for ₽ and EXP; then a ball may be thrown by your auto-catch rules.
Pokémon attack
Each species has a base attack, worked out once from its official stats (Attack, Sp. Atk, Defense, Sp. Def, Speed and HP). A Pokémon's attack is then:
attack = (base × (1 + breeding % ÷ 100) + Protein bonus) × level ÷ 100, then × card bonus, held item, Shadow state and regional attack.
Against an enemy, that is multiplied by the type effectiveness (with any gem upgrades), and all your Pokémon are added together. X Attack makes the total ×1.5.
| Pokémon | Base attack | Lv 50 | Lv 100 | Lv 100, bred 4× |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 43 | 21 | 43 | 86 | |
| 142 | 71 | 142 | 284 | |
| 172 | 86 | 172 | 344 | |
| 235 | 117 | 235 | 470 |
Click attack
click = (1 + number of Pokémon you own + number of shinies you own) ^ 1.4
Types and levels don't matter for clicks. It is raised by achievements, X Tap (×1.5) and the Rocky Helmet. For example: 10 Pokémon → 28, 100 → 639, 386 → 4,195. A purified Shadow Pokémon counts twice.
Routes
Routes are ranked by difficulty. Enemy level, HP, ₽ and tokens all grow with that rank. A Pokémon with more HP than the route's average gets a little more (±10%). You need 10 defeats on a route to move on.
| Route | Rank | Enemy level | HP | ₽ per defeat | Tokens per catch |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Route 1 | 1 | 20 | 20 | ≈20 | 5 |
| Route 8 | 13 | 62 | 7,537 | ≈146 | 67 |
| Route 23 | 25 | 83 | 39,421 | ≈289 | 135 |
| Johto Route 32 | 30 | 90 | 65,651 | ≈351 | 225 |
| Johto Route 44 | 42 | 105 | 153,798 | ≈505 | 323 |
| Green Path | 48 | 111 | 225,000 | ≈584 | 373 |
| Hoenn Route 111 | 56 | 119 | 333,618 | ≈692 | 560 |
| Hoenn Route 120 | 68 | 130 | 545,232 | ≈856 | 691 |
| Hoenn Route 132 | 80 | 140 | 822,530 | ≈1,023 | 823 |
| Cave Poké Spot | 83 | 142 | 1,500,000 | ≈1,066 | 857 |
Every route's own page has its exact numbers.
Catching
- Each Pokémon has a catch chance from its species' catch rate (rate^0.75, ±3% each time).
- The ball adds its bonus (Great +5%, Ultra +10%); the Steady Hand Lab Item adds more. A Master Ball always catches.
- Catching a Pokémon you already have still pays Cave Tokens — so set a ball for "Already caught" too.
- Which ball is thrown is set in ITEMS → AUTO-CATCH: new shiny, new Pokémon, owned shiny, owned. If you run out of a ball, the next weaker one is used.
| Pokémon | Poké Ball | Great Ball | Ultra Ball |
|---|---|---|---|
| 63% | 68% | 73% | |
| 51% | 56% | 61% | |
| 11% | 16% | 21% | |
| 2% | 7% | 12% |
EXP and the level cap
- Every defeat gives EXP to every Pokémon you own: enemy base EXP × enemy level ÷ 9 (×1.5 for trainers' Pokémon).
- Pokémon caught join at level 1. Evolving by level happens on its own; you keep the old Pokémon and gain the new one.
- Your badges set the level cap: (badges + 2) × 10, up to 100.
0 badges: Lv 20 · 1 badge: Lv 30 · 2 badges: Lv 40 · 4 badges: Lv 60 · 6 badges: Lv 80 · 8 badges: Lv 100
Multipliers
| Gain | Raised by |
|---|---|
| EXP | Achievements, Lucky Egg, EXP Share |
| ₽ from battles | Achievements, Lucky Incense, Amulet Coin |
| Cave Tokens | Achievements, Token Magnet |
| Click attack | Achievements, X Tap, Rocky Helmet |
| Pokémon attack | Breeding, cards, gems, held items, X Attack |
All of them multiply each other. Battle items last 30 s of play per use.
Currencies
- ₽ Pokédollars — from every defeat. Shops, Lab Item levels, card upgrades, quest refreshes.
- Cave Tokens — from every catch (even ones you have). Pay to enter dungeons.
- Quest Pearls — from quests and story steps. Safari Zone, egg slots, card packs, special shop items.
- Farm Petals — from harvests. Farm plots, farm shop, farm hands.
- Diamonds — from selling Underground treasures.
- Battle Points — from the Battle Frontier. Its shop.
- Pinkan Berries — grown on the farm. Officer Jenny's Pinkan trades on the Pinkan Reserve.
- Gems — from defeats, once you have the Gem Case. Type upgrades.
While you are away
- Up to 24 hours count.
- You earn 50% of the ₽ you would have earned on the route you were on (Route 1 if you were in a town), based on how fast your team wins there. No EXP, catches or defeats count.
- The farm keeps growing (no mutations), and free card packs keep coming.
- Best: leave the game on the hardest route your team still beats quickly.
Roaming Pokémon
A roaming Pokémon can show up on any route of its area instead of a normal wild Pokémon: 1 in 8,192 on the area's easiest route, up to 1 in 4,096 on its hardest. One route at a time has ×3 the chance; it changes every 8 hours (the map shows which).
| Area | Pokémon | When |
|---|---|---|
| Kanto | from the start | |
| Johto | after step 4 of Three From the Fire | |
| Orre | after step 27 of Sand and Shadow | |
| Hoenn | the Latias or Latios you didn't catch, as Southern Wings goes on; Jirachi after step 9 of A Thousand-Year Star | |
| Sevii & Orange Islands | the beasts after The Two Gems (Suicune once you own it); the two Butterfree once you are Orange League Champion |
Shadow Pokémon
In Orre, Team Cipher's trainers use Shadow Pokémon: Pokémon with their hearts shut.
- You can catch one from its trainer. Set a ball for the NEW SHADOW rule in ITEMS; Rui shows you this during Sand and Shadow.
- A Shadow Pokémon has 80% of its attack. If you already own that species, yours turns Shadow too.
- The Purify Chamber on Relic Stone opens during Sand and Shadow. The EXP your Shadow and purified Pokémon gain fills it as Flow, even at the level cap. A full chamber purifies one and empties.
- A purified Pokémon has 120% of its attack, and counts twice for your click attack.
- Each purified Pokémon makes the next one need more Flow: 1,500 after 0, 1,688 after 1, 2,923 after 5, 5,727 after 10, 17,384 after 20, 260,870 after 50.
- Joy, Excite and Vivid Scent give more EXP, only to Shadow and purified Pokémon (see held items).
